Neil Hewitt
Neil Hewitt is Professor of Energy and Director of the Centre for Sustainable Technologies, a role he has held since 2008. A Chartered Physicist and Chartered Engineer, he is a member of the Institute of Physics, the Institute of Refrigeration and the Energy Institute.
Professor Hewitt is an internationally recognised expert in heat pump technologies, with particular emphasis on energy storage and demand-side management. He has led and contributed to numerous major European and UK Research Council–funded projects involving academic, public and private partners.
With over 100 publications, he is a regular invited speaker at conferences in the UK and internationally. He also represents the UK on the International Institute of Refrigeration Commission B2 and is a UK member of the IEA Heat Pumping Technologies Annexes.
